Nice Artwork

Someone emailed me this image today....

Apparently you can do this kind of stuff as long as you have a disclaimer on the picture. Go ahead and feel free to email sean@trek-online.com about how much you like or dislike his modifications ta Kin's artwork.

Remember when Wildcard opened his site because he hated Vic and the drama he caused and how he wanted a drama free and friendly site. Now its admin is trashing artwork to help make fun of other sites while they post 'rumor' attacks in hidden threads and on the front page of the site. Amazing what the need for traffic will make a person stoop to.

Kind of shows how buddy buddy Trek-Online STG and Kinneas are gettin. Funny how Vic has ended up with Trek-Online's main news poster (turning WC's site into nothing but a copy machine for Trek Gaming news) as well as Zach's main co-host. Wonder if Vic helped Zach to get back on his feet like Zach helped him by bringing him into the Trek gaming podcast world? Hmmmmmmmm.... course we know the answer to that one already.

Does anyone bother going to Trek-Online? You get the same Trek gaming news at STG without the other unrelated and totally worthless news and god awful lcars theme. I stopped going there long ago. Yea they have some radio/podcast thing, but who needs that when we have the Aregus Array?

Gotta love how Kinneas was upset about Zach usin his work but never minded this particular use of it. At least he never posted about it but did post for Zach to remove his work.

I guess vic and company forgets how close they came to speaking GERMAN!!!

It boils my blood when ignorant baboons through the Nazi name around as a common insult. There are very few in this world that deserver to be called that name.

Whats so ironic is that had the tables been turned Vic would be screaming at how much a backstabber Zach and Kinneas are and how they copied Vics idea. How so?

If Vic's Argus Array had been first, and him and Kinneas were running it and Zach wormed his way on it. And say Vic went into the hospital for several weeks and couldn't do the Argus Array and Kinneas pulled his artwork and Zach started Hailing Frequency and then got Kinneas to join him and had him make a site for him.

If the tables were turned Vic would be going ballistic, emailing and screaming and the lot. Just look at what he did for the 'modders roundtable'.

Buuuut since it was Zach who got Vic into podcasting and was nice enough to allow Vic on his show, and when Zach had problems and Kinneas bailed on him, it was Vic who started a competing podcast, so that makes it perfectly acceptable. Normally it would, its just that you *know* Vic wouldn't stand for it.

Don't believe me? Look at what he did for the 'modders roundtable'.

Funny how Vic was posting news everytime Zach posted a podcast. Strangely however now, Vic doesn't post a word, doesn't reply in Zach's thread about his podcast. Basically shuts him out cold. He got what he wanted, he's blinded Kinneas and got Devs to be on his podcast.

Vic is very good at being friendly getting in on your good side to get what he needs. Then when he doesn't need you or you start to become competition.... look out.

Hailing Frequency has had a few problems lately, however with the release of Episode 18 we are back on track. Upcoming episodes will feature new interviews with Daron from Perpertual, as well as 4J studios.

As for kinneas, he left the show as me and him has a personal argument, however this had been resolved and he is returning to the show next episode.

Victor and the Argus Array - i wish them all the luck, the more community podcasts the merrior, however, Hailing Frequency was the first, we have our fanbase, and, ratings wise - we will wipe the floor with AA *grins*

I didn't know about this site before and now that I've seen this I certainly won't visit it now and will let my friends know to avoid it.

The Holocaust was a terrible thing and it brings tears to my eyes to think of what happened. If you actually read anything about it I can't see how anyone who has love in their heart or even the least bit of sympathy would ever even think to use the symbol that defined such tragedy and suffering in any manner at all.

If this Kinneas didn't care about this being done to his work he is just as heartless as this 'sean' person is for doing it. They have NO excuse for doing this both should post some type of public apology for it.

Know whats so incredibly hypocritical about this, Wildcard and Victor1st criticised STGU for 'bashing kids', and yet feel free throwing around terms and imagery from an event where thousands of children were put into a train and gassed to death, then their lifeless bodies dumped into mass graves or chucked into stoves to be burned. Even babies and pregnant women.

Wildcard, Sean, Victor1st, AcidRain, and the rest of that lot make me sick.

i my self was kinda p`od at this so i posted my feelings with regard to it at the site, i would like all those who have posted comments to look at seans replys and note it was done in jest, although the worst form of jest truth be told, in the end he was saying to vic not to be comparing a site to nazis. badly done sean, but well done for condeming vic for going on about the third reich, if i`m wrong in this asseration let me know.

I have no intention of logging into that forum just to see how they justify using a cruel and tragic moment in history for their own heartless intentions. There is no excuse and if they want to apologize (which is what they should do) it should be publicly on the front page of that trek-online.com site and not locked away is some hidden post.

Hey look! Trek-Online has some new news! Umm the same news copied from STG. Again. How original.

cut'em some slack since vic lets his news guy post news there hes tryin to help him out.

I would appreciate it if you wouldn't jump to conclusions and start throwing accusations based on the say-so of an obviously biased blogger -- no offence to the person that runs this blog -- I concur with some of your opinions, even -- some, but not all -- and we are all allowed to voice our own opinions on the web so I will not fault you for that... I do not appreciate, however, your dissembling of the whole facts of the situation, thus causing people to jump to the conclusion that I am indeed the one comparing a freaking Star Trek fansite to the ruthlessly inhuman acts of the Holocaust and related events; but truthfully, I am just as sickened when I think of what happened during the reign of Nazism as most of you are and claim that I am not. I am not saying this merely to try and shift the blame to Victor, but regardless, he is a big boy and he can defend himself just as I can so I'll not speak for him in this instance. Yes, some of what's been said is true, that calling anyone a Nazi should not be done unless they truly are some sick and sadistic person, and yes, perhaps I shouldn't have used the Flag of the Third Reich in a parodical logo (placed in an already-parodical graphical representation of Victor1st, mind you), and perhaps I could now take down the offensive graphic in question, but doing so, in my opinion, would seem to me like hiding my actions and trying to say that I didn't really do it and that I don't want to stand up for my actions or take the blame for what I've done in what now, in hindsight, seems to me should have been reconsidered. In lieu of this thought, I have re-opened the News Forums to guest readers, as it seems that you are correct in the fact that they were closed off -- this was likely inadvertently done when we upgraded our forums.

To trekgirl, I understand that your knowledge of the situation is incomplete, but I merely ask now that you think before you write something and know the whole truth before saying something. To call me heartless, "without love in my heart," "without even the least bit of sympathy," seems rather hypocritical of you in this case, since is that not what a Nazi could be defined as? Regardless, you cannot truly call someone that and mean it simply by reading a subjectively-opinionated weblog and looking at a graphic.

And I think I should point out that Victor was not referring to STGU as an inhumane killing-machine or even remotely near what you are implying that either of us meant to say. You should also note that the Holocaust is only the most-notoriously repugnant acts that were taken by the Third Reich, and that Victor's reference to the Third Reich was not the same thing as calling them a "bunch of genocidal maniacal killers" or something of the sort. Calling some organization the "Third Reich" or Nazis could also be taken as synonymous with the word totalitarianism. If you don't believe me just look up the Synonyms and definition of the word "nazi":

-Sean (Trek-Online HTSA)

P.S. I am posting this response on both Trek-Online.com and on the blog, since I think it likely that this post will be moderated and "accidentally" deleted.

P.P.S. I think it should also be noted that I am at present a junior in High School, and thus have just completed a World Civilizations class in which we spent six weeks on World War II, so I know full well what I was implying when I made the image. Also, this is the reason which I immediately connected Nazism to the Holocaust, just as all of you have. I thought Victor's words childish and base, but now after thinking about it, both incidents were blown completely out of proportions by both parties (in reference to this blog thread and the original topic in which the image was posted).

That is not an apology, it is just a bunch of rationalization to justify what you did. You have a lot of growing up to do. I'm glad the Star Trek Online community I've found doesn't act like the sites I'm reading about here.

I didn't expect you or anyone else who uses this kind of symbolism in an manner to truly understand and be apologetic, because if you did really truly comprehended what they did, how they could rip a 3yr old out of the hands of her mother and throw her on one "train" while shoving her mother into another, you would never have done this to begin with.

Imagine all the things they'd be saying if an admin of STGU had done this. They'd be posting that STGU supports Hitler on the front page of their site, like they did when Jaz said of his own opinion that he didn't care about clans. These guys are losers. I love reading this blog and seeing how this guy catches these twerps with their hand in the BS jar over and over!

Anonymous said...

I am just a webmaster, I usually try and avoid the political BS that gets spewed between the fansites... Except for this one instance in which Victor's namecalling perturbed me...

I do not need to justify myself to anyone, I only truly care about my own opinion of myself, so you can keep spouting off and I may keep responding, but I really don't care in the slightest what you have to say on the matter. I am just spending my free time in this community and if I want to deal with political BS I will go into politics as a career.

Anonymous said...

Sean: "..I only truly care about my own opinion.."

trekgirl called it. sez it all don't it.

Anonymous said...

Again with the dissembling... If you're going to quote me, quote me in entirety and not partially... "I only truly care about my own opinion of myself"

That doesn't say that I don't care about other people's opinions, only that I know what kind of person I am and nothing you or anyone else says about me will have any effect on me in the negative.

in my mind sean made a mistake which he has admited to, is it not time to say ok mate you messed and let it go? this constant argumant only leads to yet more division in an already splintered community.

Anonymous said...

Sean, your posting here clearly indicates that you do indeed care what others think about you, thus the need to rebut what has been said, even your predictions about how it would be deleted reflect a pre-concieved notion that proved false.

Anonymous said...

Sean I give you the benefit of the doubt and go to the site you say is open and its not. I have to believe its not because there is no real apology or caring about what you did posted there at all, but was just done so you can look better here.

You post comments in here and there is no empathy and it is clear to me in your heart you really don't care, despite what you say. Girls are very good at picking up on those kind of signals. I've said my peace and have no desire to speak to you anymore.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I suppose I do care in a way that people are being misled about what kind of person I am, but what I am saying is that I will not lose any sleep over it.

I changed the permissions to allow people to view what's going on in the news forums, but then Wildcard closed them again. You have to remember that I am only a webmaster and not really in charge of the site. Here's what he said: "Sean the forums have to be kept close from public view and people must register to view them, it is how I am monotoring the kids that come here and participate. If people want to think we hide something in locked forums let them, I dont care... Register or stay out."

Trekgirl, even if you are female -- which is always questionable in this community, since there have been many a perverted male that have pretended to be female -- I might agree with your saying that girls are more adept at judging someone's sincerity, if this were a real-life situation. But since this is the Internet and you have only my words to base a judgment on, that argument is baseless...

Yea funny how that kid they wanted to 'protect' never shows up at their forum. Meanwhile minors are getting flamed at stg but you don't see wildcard posting about that. Course not wouldn't want to get cutoff from the coat tails he ridin on.

Anonymous said...

I can tell you that Vic rode my coat tails until he could take it and now im shut out. I am being nice about it though, unlike they are.
